- On the Move Maintenance
-
This course is for you if you have a basic knowledge of bike maintenance, but want to be more confident at dealing with common mechanical problems that may arise whilst out on a ride.
The On the Move course is provided at the subsidised cost of £15
You will learn how to: Decide what to carry with you on a ride - Assess problems and decide on action to take - Make use of your surroundings to make things easier - Attempt "get you home" repairs for a range of usually resolvable issues
Led by a cycle maintenance expert, you'll be in a small group with others of similar experience in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. It's an intensive hands-on session with time spent outdoors looking at scenarios that arise on a ride which will give you the confidence and skills to make the right decisions to get moving again.
You will need a roadworthy bike, a drink & snack and to dress for cycling and standing around outside according to the weather forecast. It is best to bring your own bike to work on, but we can lend you one if necessary. The sessions last three hours and are held across Greater Manchester.
