On the Move Maintenance
  • Level: intermediate
  • Cost: £15 (subsidised)
  • Duration: three hours
  • Type: small group

 Course overview:

  • ·       Deciding what to carry on a ride in case you need to make repairs
  • ·       Assessing problems and deciding how to resolve them
  • ·       Learning how to make repairs while out on a ride to get you home

Course format:

  • ·       One qualified instructor will deliver the course.
  • ·       Part of the course will be delivered outdoors looking at scenarios that can arise when out on a ride.
  • ·       We’ll provide tools and equipment for you to practice with. Bring your own bike and helmet if you’d like to wear one, or we can provide if needed.
  • ·       This is a group course and there will be other participants also learning bike maintenance skills. Minimum number of participants is usually three and maximum is six.
  • ·       For ages 12+ (participants aged 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times).

Important:

·       E-bikes and bikes with hydraulic brakes are welcome however they are often more complex than a standard bike and the instructor may not be able to address all areas of maintenance in this course.
